Acid Reflux Causes

If you suffer from Acid reflux or GERD, you will know how troublesome it causes to your daily life.

Caffeine, alcohol and sugar are the top 3 causes of acid reflux. Other causes are spicy food, fried foods and fruit juices. Of course, soft drinks, chocolate, sweets and wheat bread can also worsen this problem.

Stress aggravates acid reflux.

Don’t underestimate how stress can affect your digestive system.

When you are stressed, you can’t digest.

Tips:

- Switch your conventional breads to potato, lentil, millet and quinoa.

- Eat Fruits Alone and eat them whole, not juiced.

- Don’t mix your fruit with your meals. Give yourself a 2-hour time period before moving onto your next meal.

- Choose white meat (chicken, fish, turkey, duck) over red meat (bacon, beef, veal)

- Avoid cow’s milk and yellow cheese.

- Drink chamomile, fennel, ginger, peppermint and green tea. Avoid black tea, Earl grey and coffee.

- Liquiorice root tea is especially helpful for relieving problematic acid reflux.

- Avoid drinking water and beverages with your meals. This will dilute the acid which makes the problem worse.

Try this for Instant Relief:

- Boil potatoes in water. Drink the potato water when cooled down. We tend to throw out potato water but this is a secret home remedy against acid reflux.

- Consume raw or semi-raw potatoes. Whether you shred raw potato on your salad or eat slices of raw potato as a snack – this will instantly fix acid reflux on the spot. Potatoes are one of the most alkalizing vegetables needed for those suffering acid reflux.
